1. angst (do alemão) – angústia, ansiedade. I feel such angst when the boss comes to review the employees because he´s so critical.
2. blasé (do francês) – desinteressado, indiferente. Liz isn´t impressed by much anymore. She´s so blasé.
3. camaraderie (do francês) – camaradagem. The camaraderie of our staff is what makes this company work so efficiently.
4. forte (do italiano) – ponto forte. Cooking has never been my forte.
5. gung-ho (do chinês) – animado, entusiasmado. The kids are all gung-hoabout the camping trip this weekend.
6. kindergarten (do alemão) – jardim da infância. They have known each other since they were in kindergarten.
7. klutz (do iídiche) – desajeitado, desengonçado. You´re such a klutz! You spilled coffee all over my shirt!
8. prima donna (do italiano) – pessoa temperamental. We invited James to be part of our bookclub because he´s so knowledgeable, but he´s such aprima donna he didn´t get along with anyone.
9. verbatim (do latim) – literalmente. I repeated what the teacher had said verbatim.
10. kowtow (to someone) (do chinês) – agir de maneira submisssa e subserviente. Our new boss expects everyone to kowtow to him.
